DISEASE UPDATEAmerican Foulbrood has been confirmed in the Banchory area. It is highly likely that AFB will be found more widely in Aberdeenshire when brood rearing re-commences in the spring. Please be aware of this and check your bees carefully. European Foulbrood has been confirmed from S Aberdeenshire to Fife, with the largest concentration being in central Perthshire. Check your bees when brood rearing recommences. If you are in the least bit suspicious contact Kirsty Sutherland, our local Bee Officer, on 01467 626222 AFB and EFB are notifiable diseases. By law, they must be reported to the local Bee Officer. Please check this website and/or the SBA website 'Diseases Section' for up-to-date information.
